Device Manager
PALION is your personal intelligence system. It understands what you say, remembers your preferences, and takes care of things across all your devices — without you needing to be technical.
Three things to do first
- 1. Register this device — click the device prompt in chat or visit Account Settings to save this device. Commands can only run on saved devices.
- 2. Try a command — type anything in the box at the bottom and press Enter. Try what can you do to see what's possible.
- 3. Explore the left menu — tap any icon on the sidebar to switch between Chat, Dashboard, Devices, and more.
Finding your way around
- Chat — your main space for talking to PALION and giving it tasks.
- Dashboard — a summary of your recent activity and active devices.
- Devices — manage and control every device linked to your account.
- Intelligence — see what PALION is thinking and teach it new things.
- Account — change your name, password, voice mode, and preferences.
- Vault — store and retrieve your documents and files.
Type what you want in plain language at the bottom of the screen and press Enter. Talk to PALION the way you'd talk to a person — no special phrasing needed.
Things you can ask PALION to do
- open calculator — opens an app on your device
- draft an email to James about the meeting — creates an email draft
- search the web for best coffee near me — researches a topic
- remind me about the 3pm call — sets a reminder
- summarise my screen — describes what's currently visible
- remember that I prefer short emails — saves a preference
- what did I last ask you — recalls recent context
Attaching files
Use the attachment button (paperclip icon) next to the input box to send PALION a document, image, or screenshot. It will read and use it in its next response.
After you send a command
Commands that run on your device (like opening apps) require your device to be registered and online. PALION will confirm before taking action and you can approve or cancel in the chat.
You can speak to PALION instead of typing. Click the microphone button to start listening, or turn on Wake mode so PALION listens for your voice automatically.
Using the wake word
When Wake mode is on, say "Hey Pal" to get PALION's attention. It will listen for your command. After it responds, you have 3 seconds to start speaking before it goes back to standby.
Voice output modes
- Silent — PALION responds in text only. Best for quiet or public spaces.
- Basic — short spoken confirmations only (e.g. "Done.").
- Verbose — full spoken responses with detail.
- Concierge — formal, conversational, premium voice experience.
- Auto — PALION picks the best mode based on what you're doing.
Change your voice mode in Account Settings → Voice Mode.
Voiceprint recognition
PALION can learn your voice to recognise you even in a noisy room. Go to Account Settings and follow the voice enrolment steps to set this up.
PALION works across all your devices — PC, phone, tablet, laptop — as a connected mesh. Any device you register can receive and execute commands.
Registering a device
When you first use PALION on a new device, you'll be asked to save it. Give it a name (e.g. "My Laptop" or "Home PC") and tap Save Device. You need at least one saved device to run commands.
Device statuses
- Online — the device is active and connected right now.
- Offline — the device is not currently reachable.
- Standby — the device is registered but idle or sleeping.
Sending a command to a specific device
In the Devices section, click any device to open its control panel. Type a command and press Execute to run it on that device.
- exit standby mode — wakes the device up
- open calculator — launches an app on that device
- ping — checks if the device is responding
- audible ping — plays an alert sound on the device so you can locate it by ear
Lost your phone or watch?
Go to Devices, click the device you can't find, then press 🔊 Ping to find. The device will play an alert sound even if it's buried under a cushion or in another room. You can also type audible ping my phone in the command bar.
Cross-device commands in chat
- open calculator on my phone
- exit standby mode on my tablet
PALION can manage your calendar and reminders — from the sidebar, from chat, or from voice. It supports repeating events, weekday schedules, and sync with Google, Outlook, and Apple Calendar.
Adding events from chat
- add a meeting tomorrow at 3pm called Team Sync
- remind me every Monday to review emails
- create a reminder every weekday at 9am — daily standup
- schedule dentist appointment on Friday at 10am
Repeating events
When adding an event or reminder, PALION understands repeat patterns:
- Daily — remind me every day
- Weekdays — every weekday or Monday to Friday
- Specific days — every Monday, every Tuesday and Thursday
- Weekly/monthly — every week, every month
Calendar views
Open Calendar from the left sidebar to see Month, Week, and Day views. Use the ‹ › arrows to navigate and Today to jump back to now.
Connecting your calendar
Go to Calendar → Connect to link Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar. Once connected, events you add in PALION will appear in your external calendar and vice versa after a sync.
Editing and deleting events
Click any event in the calendar to open its detail panel. From there you can edit the title, time, repeat rule, and notes, or delete the event entirely.
PALION can write emails for you — either as a draft in the chat window, or directly in your device's mail app.
Draft an email in chat
- draft an email to Sarah about tomorrow's meeting
- write a professional follow-up to my client James
- make this more formal: [paste your draft]
PALION writes the email in the chat. You can copy it, ask for changes, or have it open in your mail app.
Open in your mail app
- send an email to james@example.com about the invoice
PALION will confirm the sender, recipient, subject, and message before opening your default mail app with everything pre-filled. You press Send yourself.
Replying to an email
Leave the email open on your screen and say or type:
- draft a reply to this email
- reply politely declining the meeting
PALION remembers things about you over time so it can give you better, more personalised responses — without you having to repeat yourself.
What PALION remembers
- Your preferences — e.g. you like short emails, or you prefer formal language.
- Your habits — morning routines, common tasks, frequently used apps.
- Things you explicitly ask it to remember — e.g. remember my GP's number is 01234 567890.
- How you phrase things — so it gets better at understanding you over time.
How to teach PALION
- Correct it — if it does the wrong thing, say what you meant: I meant open the calendar, not the calculator.
- Save a preference — remember I prefer brief summaries.
- Neural Growth — in Smart Insights, teach PALION a specific phrase and what it should do.
- Upload a file — give PALION a document and it will use it to answer questions or complete tasks.
The memory glow
When you see a blue glow in the chat footer, it means PALION recalled a memory to personalise its current response.
Your privacy
Your personal memories are private to your account only. General improvements to PALION come from anonymised patterns, never from your personal data.
The Vault is your personal file storage inside PALION. Upload documents, images, and files so PALION can reference them when answering questions or completing tasks.
Uploading files
Open Vault from the left sidebar, or use the attachment button (paperclip icon) in the chat input. PALION supports documents, text files, and images.
Using uploaded files in chat
- what does my contract say about notice periods
- summarise the document I uploaded yesterday
- find the image I uploaded last week
Vault sync
Your Vault is available across all your linked devices. Files you upload on your phone can be referenced from your PC and vice versa.
PALION can adjust its personality and communication style to suit your mood or the task at hand. These are called Personas.
Available personas
- Auto — PALION picks the best style automatically. This is the default and works great for most people.
- Concierge — formal, professional, and polished. Ideal for work or business tasks.
- Comedy — witty, playful, and a little sassy. Good for casual use — but be ready for banter.
- Engineer — detailed and technical. Best for code or system tasks.
- Basic — short, no-nonsense responses. Great when you just need quick answers.
- Verbose — thorough and detailed. Good for research or when you want more explanation.
How to switch
Click the persona icon in the bottom-left of the chat screen, or go to Account Settings → Voice Mode to set a default.
Smart Insights gives you a live view of what PALION is aware of right now — your devices, your context, and how it's making decisions.
Intelligence Flux
A real-time feed of PALION's current thinking — what it's analysing, routing, and learning. You don't need to do anything here; it's for awareness and curiosity.
World State
Shows PALION's current awareness of your environment — which devices are active, your location context, current tasks, and any handoffs happening across your devices.
Neural Growth
Actively teach PALION a specific phrase and tell it exactly what to do when you say it. For example, teach it that "morning routine" means "open calendar, play playlist, and check the weather". Click the Neural Growth button to open the teaching panel.
AI Spend Monitor
Shows how much of your AI processing budget has been used this period. Standard tasks like app launches and reminders are unaffected if it reaches 100% — only AI-powered features like research and drafting are paused.
Ambient Mode lets PALION run quietly in the background — aware of your context without interrupting you. Silent Mode keeps PALION completely quiet until you speak or type to it directly.
What Ambient Mode does
- PALION can listen locally for desire-cue phrases (“I wonder if”, “I wish”, “I need to”) when microphone access is enabled.
- The active app or window on your device can be shared as a lightweight context signal so PALION understands what you’re working on.
- No raw audio is ever recorded or stored. PALION listens only for approved trigger patterns and discards everything else locally — nothing else is transmitted.
- Context signals make PALION’s replies more relevant — for example, it may offer to help if it notices repeated friction on the same task.
Turning Ambient Mode on or off
Go to Account Settings → Ambient Mode. The main toggle turns Ambient Mode on or off for your account entirely. Silent Mode is a separate option that keeps PALION completely quiet — no alerts, no proactive messages — until you address it first.
Permission controls
Each permission can be granted or revoked independently:
- Microphone trigger listening — listens locally for wake and desire-cue phrases only.
- Overlay assistance — enables non-intrusive on-screen suggestions (coming soon).
- Adaptive learning — lets PALION learn from ambient context signals to get more relevant over time.
Monitoring indicator
When Ambient Mode is active, a small indicator appears in the dashboard header so you always know PALION is listening. There is no hidden ambient state. When Silent Mode is on, the indicator shows PALION is present but not actively listening for cues.
Reviewing what was captured
Context signals used in your session are visible in Smart Insights → World State. You can see what ambient context PALION used when answering your last request.
The Command Canvas is a full-screen workspace where you can run commands, host apps, and work with PALION in a more focused environment — separate from the main chat.
Opening the Canvas
Click Open Full Canvas in the chat sidebar panel, or look for the Canvas button at the top of the dashboard. It opens in a new tab.
App hosting
The Canvas can open apps and websites directly inside PALION using its App Hosting feature. Instead of switching windows, keep everything in one place using the iFrame panel in the Canvas.
Task execution modes
In Account Settings, choose how PALION handles tasks:
- Overlay — a floating panel appears over your current screen. Less disruptive, good for quick tasks.
- Canvas — tasks open in the full Command Canvas. Better for multi-step or complex work.
Manage your PALION profile, preferences, and connected services from Account Settings — accessible from the gear icon or the bottom of the left sidebar.
What you can change
- Your name & nickname — update your display name. PALION will use your nickname to greet you.
- Password — change your login password at any time.
- Voice mode — set how PALION speaks (Silent, Basic, Verbose, Concierge, Auto).
- Task execution mode — choose between Overlay and Canvas.
- Voiceprint enrolment — train PALION to recognise your voice.
- Linked social login — connect or manage your Google / social login.
PALION Network
From Account Settings, you can enter the PALION Network — the community layer where users share insights, commands, and ideas. It's optional and can be closed at any time.
Signing out
Scroll to the bottom of Account Settings and tap Sign Out. Your devices, memories, and preferences are safely stored and will be there when you sign back in.
Your data is yours. Here's a plain-language breakdown of what PALION stores and how it's used.
What's stored on your account
- Your profile — name, email, and login credentials (encrypted).
- Your devices — names and types of devices you've registered.
- Your preferences and memories — things you've saved or that PALION has learned about you.
- Your command history — a log of what you've asked PALION to do, used to improve context and continuity.
- Your Vault files — documents and images you've uploaded.
What's private (never shared)
Your personal memories, preferences, command history, and Vault files are private to your account only. No other user can see them.
What improves the system
PALION may use anonymised, aggregated patterns to improve intent recognition. This never includes your personal data, name, or identifiable information.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask for corrections, or request deletion at any time. See our full Privacy Policy (link in the footer) for details.

Workspace Tools gives admins and creators a live view of the command queue — every instruction sent to PALION, with full control over approvals and retries.
Command statuses
- Pending — waiting to be approved and executed.
- Completed — ran successfully.
- Failed — encountered an error. Check the Result column for details.
- Canceled — was stopped before running.
Queue controls
- Approve All Awaiting — runs all commands currently waiting for approval.
- Requeue All Failed — retries every command that failed.
- Requeue All Canceled — puts canceled commands back in the queue.
- Refresh Commands — manually refreshes the list (also auto-refreshes every 2 minutes).
- Neural Calibration — recalibrates the intent engine. Use after adding training data or if command recognition seems off.
Support View
Toggle Support View at the top to switch between seeing only your own commands and all users' commands. Privacy scope is clearly labelled when Support View is active.
Explain a command
Click Explain next to any command for a plain-language breakdown — which intent was detected, confidence score, and what action was taken.
Growth Analytics appears at the top of Workspace Tools and shows platform-wide user metrics, updated live from the database each time you open the panel.
Understanding the metrics
- Total Users — total PALION accounts ever registered.
- New Registrations — new accounts in the last 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days.
- 7-Day Retention — percentage of users who signed up 7–14 days ago and returned in the last 7 days. This is the key health metric.
- Cohort Size — how many users the retention rate is calculated from. A very small cohort means the % may not be statistically meaningful yet.
Retention status labels
- VIBRANT (green) — retention ≥ 15%. Strong early signals.
- SEEDING (amber) — retention > 0% but below 15%. Growing.
- STANDBY (muted) — no returning users yet in the cohort window. Normal at very early stage.
PALION's security layer automatically monitors for unusual or suspicious activity across all registered devices and accounts.
Unidentified attempt analysis
If someone tries to use a PALION-registered device without proper authorisation, the system logs the attempt. If sensor data is available, PALION generates a contextual summary of the incident.
What triggers an anomaly
- Commands from an unrecognised or unregistered device.
- Authentication failures above normal thresholds.
- Commands targeting a device from a different account without permission.
- Unusual access patterns (e.g. access at unusual times from a new location).
Reviewing incidents
Security anomalies appear in the Smart Insights panel. Each entry includes the time, event type, and available context. Admins can review and dismiss incidents from there.
Responding to an incident
- If a device was compromised, deregister it immediately from the Devices panel.
- Change your PALION password from Account Settings.
- Review recent command history for any unauthorised actions.
Creator-tier accounts have access to advanced tools for managing and extending PALION's knowledge and capabilities.
Creator badge
Creator accounts display a gold badge in the dashboard header, identifying your elevated access. The badge is visible to you only.
Knowledge upload
Creators can upload Markdown documents that PALION learns from directly. This extends what PALION knows about your specific domain, company, or workflow. Upload knowledge files from the Vault section using the Upload Knowledge File option.
Governance analytics
Full access to Growth Analytics — retention cohorts, new registrations, and all-time user counts — from the Workspace Tools panel.
Launch readiness tracker
The Launch Readiness card in Smart Insights shows the status of key production milestones — backend stability, test coverage, tester sign-off, and deployment health.
Intent catalog management
The intent command catalog defines 200+ mapped command phrases that PALION's intent engine uses for fast, confident routing. Creators can extend this catalog to add custom commands for their deployment.
